STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — When she graduated Moore Catholic High School in 2005, Jennifer Jenkins didn’t think she’d be on stage someday introducing the vice president of the United States.

But that’s just what happened last month when Jenkins — who locals might remember by her maiden name, Kassebaum — introduced Vice President Kamala Harris for a July 21 speech at the Ritz Theater in Jacksonville, Fla., the state she now calls home.
