SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Local organizations are spending the day sharing resources with men in our community.
It’s the Men’s Health Summit hosted by the “100 Black Men of Savannah.”
This is just one of many initiatives this month, a part of the Savannah Black Heritage Festival.
Several health and wellness professionals set up tables to raise awareness about mental health challenges, especially within the Black community.
It was a day of conversation and sharing advice for those who needed it.
Harold Ogelsby is the President of 100 Black Men Savannah. He said his mission is to end the stigma around mental health in his community.
“It felt awesome to have an environment, a safe space where folks can talk about that stigma that’s face by many black males about their mental health,” said Ogelsby.
If you missed this event, the Savannah Black Heritage Festival will host several more events before the end of the month.
