Trump, Harris planning stops in Mid-Michigan this week

Former President Donald Trump has confirmed a visit to Saginaw Valley State University on Thursday while Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to visit Flint on Friday.


MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) – The top two presidential candidates will be back in Mid-Michigan this week as the Mitten State continues to be hotly contested this fall.

Former President Donald Trump has confirmed a visit to the Ryder Center for Health & Physical Education at Saginaw Valley State University on Thursday.

Doors are scheduled to open at 11 a.m., but people who want to get inside should arrive no later than 10 a.m. The program is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. and Trump is scheduled to address the audience around 3 p.m.

Ticket information for Thursday’s event was not immediately available Monday morning.

Vice President Kamala Harris is planning a visit to Flint the following day on Friday. Details for where she is stopping, what time the event starts and whether the public get attend were not available Monday.

Trump last visited Mid-Michigan on Sept. 17, when he took part in a town hall meeting at the Dort Financial Center in Flint. His former White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, moderated the event.

Harris has not visited Mid-Michigan since she became the Democrat nominee for president. She has visited Michigan three times since then, but all three stops were in Metro Detroit.
