PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Florida’s medical marijuana industry is a boon to the businesses that score coveted state licenses, but there is a glaring disparity in the number of those awarded to African American businesses.
One of the new Florida laws taking effect this weekend was amended to change that.
State Senator Tracie Davis, a Democrat from Jacksonville, was one of the lawmakers involved.
