SHREVEPORT, La. — Shreveport is celebrating the inaugural 318 MLK DreamFest, a series of events honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“We are coming together with different organizations within our community to highlight and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,” said project planner Angelique Feaster Evans. “I have always had an affinity for African-American history, and so I’m very thankful that we’re able to put on this wonderful programing initiative to really help make a difference in our community, not just for today, but for generations to come.”
DreamFest features a variety of events, including cultural celebrations, educational opportunities, and community engagement initiatives.
