SF human rights head leads big equity initiatives

Sheryl Evans Davis, executive director of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, has a knack for starting social-service programs that take on a life of their own.

It began when Davis was a young kindergarten teacher at a private boys school in The City. She loved the work, but was concerned by the gap between the education that her students and the children in her neighborhood were getting.
