Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce hosts gala honoring local Black business achievements

The Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce (GSBCC) hosted its annual Black Business Excellence Gala at the Armstrong Center on Thursday.

The gala kicked off with a red carpet reception which included live entertainment and a three-course meal featuring African, Caribbean and soulful cuisine.

The evening celebrated the achievements and innovation along with the economic impact of Black business leaders in Savannah and the surrounding area.

Moncello Stewart, the president of the GSBCC spoke at the event.

We are here tonight to award and recognize Black-owned businesses and work they’ve been doing in the community. How they’ve paved the way for new businesses – and how the old businesses have paved the way for them. We are here tonight to elevate and celebrate those businesses.

The gala also included a ceremony awarding businesses with the “Entrepreneur of the Year,” “Business of the Year,” and many more.

It ended with a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting local Black businesses.
