Saskatchewan Health Authority calls a Code Black at Royal University Hospital: bomb threat

There is a Code Black for the Royal University Hospital and Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital emergency department in Saskatoon due to a bomb threat.

The SHA says in a news release, “SHA staff and leadership are working in conjunction with the Saskatoon Police to ensure the safety of patients and staff and have activated the appropriate protocols.”

RUH and JPCH are currently on lockdown which restricts access of public and patients to the hospitals.  Patients who need emergency medical attention are advised to access the emergency departments at either St. Paul’s Hospital or Saskatoon City Hospital. Patients who had scheduled medical appointments will be called to reschedule at a later date.

The Saskatoon Police Service has traffic restrictions in place and members of the public are asked to avoid the area.
