OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – Black farmers, writers, musicians, and business people gathered at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center to recognize the evolution of African American businesses in Marion County.
Featured businesses included Town Talk Magazine, Nature Wellness Care LLC, and AG Grow Consultants.
One farmer says the industry has evolved due to increased development in Marion County. “Our land that we once leased is being developed. So it creates a problem. We have to grow more food on less property. So that’s where precision farming will become very very important,” Howard Gunn of AG Grow Consultants shared.
Guests danced as the owner of Sean T Music Global performed a steel drum solo.
