The number of Black people in Philadelphia to die from drug overdose has risen significantly, according to a report released by the Health Department on Monday.
The 649 overdose fatalities of Black Philadelphians in 2022 resulted in a 20 percent increase from 2021 and an 87 percent increase from 2018.
