New York Creates Commission to Study Reparations for Black Americans

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed legislation that could pave the way for payments to Black Americans over the state’s history of slavery.  

Under the law, New York will create a nine-person commission to examine racial and economic discrimination against people of African descent and study reparations.
