National Reparations Convention is Proceeding with Unity this Weekend

Ambassador, Dr. Tauheedah Bronner and Attorney Malik Z. Shabazz of the National Reparations Conventions (NRC) 2023 joined On Point with Juandolyn Stokes to highlight their event this weekend October 7th and 8th at the Georgia State University Student Center East Auditorium at 55 Gilmer Street.

The NRC is a coalition of grassroots organizations, scholars, legislators, leaders, and activist who are a part of the reparation’s movement.

In short, members of the movement are Afrodescendants, who are those who were forcibly dispossessed from their homeland, Africa and transported to the Americas and Slavery Diaspora for enslavement.

Slavery in America lasted 400 years causing those enslaved to lose all self-identity.

“We want full and complete reparations,” said Bronner.

That could mean land, a check, or restoration of human rights, she adds.

The NRC expects to have representatives from all levels including the local level with a member of the Fulton County Reparations Task Force for the Pan-African National Movement.

The NRC intends to proceeds with unity.

“Reparations is our moral right and legal right,” said Bronner.

This event is free for all students, says Bronner.

This is for our young people to take the mantle. It’s for their generation.
