Mental Health Mondays Kick-off on Good Morning Black Hills

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) – To prepare you for the demands of the week and provide you with proper self-care, West River Mental Health will present tips to make your week flow a lot better every Monday on Good Morning Black Hills morning show.

Amy Iversen, CEO of West River Mental Health says to take time out for yourself and do things outside, “it’s really important to listen to your mental health, especially on Mondays when you are getting up and getting back into the swing of things can be a little challenging.” Iversen says achieving good mental health is first and foremost in the process and says it’s part of overall healthcare. She says this is a great opportunity to highlight this growing issue and give people tips and something for people to pay attention to.

Iversen says means when the weather is nice go outside and don’t stay inside. This will help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health. Even small acts of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact and can help manage stress and increase your energy.

Iversen says she’s happy to partner with KEVN’s morning show because mental health matters

“Excited to partner on Mental Health Mondays to raise awareness of the importance of taking care of one’s mental health and finding help when needed. Also want to decrease the stigma associated with seeking mental health services. Good mental health and good physical health go hand-in-hand. Everyone has challenges in life that can impact mental health. It’s okay to talk about it, and it’s okay to ask for help. West River Mental Health is a community mental health center that serves 10 counties throughout Western SD and provides outpatient counseling services in many schools and communities with office locations in Rapid City, Spearfish, and Hot Springs. Also, we provide crisis assessment and stabilization services in Rapid City.
