Man arrested & charged following robbery incident at Pahoa 7-Eleven parking lot

HAWAII COUNTY (Island News) – Hawaii Island police arrested and charged a Puna man in connection to a robbery incident that occurred in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Pahoa.

Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen announced that Benjamin Aldosa Jr., 38, was arrested and charged in connection to a robbery incident that happened on Friday, August 16, 2024, at a 7-Eleven parking lot located on Pahoa Village Road.

Police reported that Aldosa struck another man multiple times before taking the man’s laundry bag and leaving the scene on foot.

Aldosa made his initial appearance in Hilo District Court on Monday afternoon. The District Court judge released Aldosa, who was previously in custody on $50,000 bail, on supervised release and ordered him to appear for a preliminary hearing on September 4, 2024.

Aldosa was charged with Robbery in the Second Degree, which is a class B offense that carries either a penalty of a 10-year prison term or 4-year probation and up to 18-months in jail.
