Asian Law Alliance is pleased to announce that the Korematsu Day 2024 will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024
from 11am to 1pm at the Wesley United Methodist Church at 566 N. 5th Street, San Jose.
In this annual event, we honor the life and works of Fred T. Korematsu and unpack the
pivotal moments in civil rights history that followed. The theme of this year is reparations. The
keynote speech will be delivered by Don Tamaki, who served on the Task Force to Study and
Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans. Panelists will engage with the issue of
reparations from the perspective of Japanese Americans reparations to the current California
Reparations Task Force Proposals for African Americans. The Korematsu Day 2024 is open to
the public but advance registration at www.tinyurl.com/korematsu2024 is required.
Korematsu Day 2024 is co-sponsored by the African American Community Services Agency,
the Council on American Islamic Relations – SF Bay Area, the Filipino Bar Association of
Northern California, the Japanese American Museum – San Jose, Santa Clara University, and
Asian Law Alliance.
