Joe Biden raised over $30m at a star-studded fundraising event in Los Angeles on Saturday, breaking his own record for a Democratic candidate. Appearing with Barack Obama and Jimmy Kimmel, a late-night comedian, Mr Biden warned that “one of the scariest parts” of a second term for Donald Trump would be his appointment of more Supreme Court justices. “The Supreme Court has never been as out of kilter as it is today,” he said, thanks to the three justices appointed by Mr Trump in his previous term.
