Inaugural Black History Month health fair

Today the NAACP of Lackawanna County chapter in collaboration with the Geisinger medical center held their first ever Black History Month health fair.

The event was dedicated to informing the black community about ways to improve their children’s mental and physical well being as well as monitoring their own health.

“People need to stay aware of what’s happening in the world and their children and this is the perfect to bridge that gap between the lack of trust between the black community and health care workers ,” Ricky Cephas the president of the NAACP’s Lackawanna County chapter, said.

Over 15 different organizations attended the health fair.
