Heart campaign to help Black women protect their health

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States and the odds of dying from it are even higher if you’re an African American woman.

There are ways to reduce the risks of cardiovascular disease.

Andrew Douglas of Action News 5′s Digital Desk speaks with Leandris Liburd from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as Tara Robinson, founder and CEO of The Black Heart Association, about a new initiative to help Black women protect their hearts.
