Governor signs budget with $12M allocated for reparations

LOS ANGELES — Over the weekend, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the 2024-25 state budget that includes $12 million for reparations.

While some activists say this isn’t enough, others say it’s a step in the right direction. 

The money is expected to go toward reparations bills that are currently making their way through the Legislature.
