Gnats, ‘black residue’ and dirty dishes: Madison County’s lowest restaurant health scores December 2024

Eleven restaurants in Madison County will receive a repeat visit from a health inspector after they scored 84 or below when they were inspected last month.

Scores below the 85 threshold trigger reinspections from the county health department within 60 days.

Among the infractions cited by inspectors include keeping foods at either too high or too low of a temperature, which put patrons at risk of foodborne illnesses.

Other violations included gnats near a hand sink, “black residue” in an ice chute and dirty dishes stored with clean plates.
