After celebrating its long-awaited grand opening back in January, Deviant Libation—located at 3800 N Nebraska Ave. in Ybor Heights—releases its very first canned beer, a sour ale called “Visibility,” this weekend.
The newly-opened brewery teamed up with marketing agency BKN Creative to host a release party from 4 p.m.-10 p.m on Friday, Sept. 22, featuring drag performances from local queens, raffles, bumpin’ music from a DJ and tasty eats from Trash Panda food truck.
Visibility is a “moderately soured ale aged on mango, papaya, and American white oak” and will be both available on draft and in cans. Alongside its first canned beer, Deviant Libation also offers a variety of refreshing options on tap—which all use its Crate Digger sour ale as a base—in addition to lagers and darker beers from other Tampa breweries like Magnanimous Brewing, Cigar City Brewing and 7venth Sun Brewing.

This wide spread of locally -brewed beer will certainly compliment Trash Panda’s Asian-fusion fare, which ranges from bang-bang cauliflower and dumplings to barbecue skewers and eggrolls.
“We are stoked to partner with BKN, a fellow LGBTQ+ organization, on our first beer can drop. This is a huge deal, and we can’t wait to start pouring it out to celebrate this milestone with everyone in the Tampa Bay community,” says Deviant Libation owner Tim Ogden in a press release. “LGBTQ+ visibility matters, and Deviant Libation is intent on creating a space that drips with inclusivity and celebrates equity and diversity.”
