CUNYAC Community College Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
TeAmo Ebron, Hostos
So., Harlem, N.Y. / Manhattan Bridges
Ebron turned in a strong week for the Caimans. Against No. 7 Dutchess, he scored a game-high 26 points with 16 rebounds and four assists. He followed that up with 16 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and three steals in a victory at Suffolk.
CUNYAC Community College Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
Khalil Black, BMCC
Fr., Queens, N.Y. / Institute for Health Professions
Black put together the best week of his career to date, registering double figures in all three games for the Panthers last week and averaging 19.3 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. In the Panthers game against Queensborough, Black dropped 16 points on 5-for-11 shooting with four assists, two rebounds, and one block. At Monroe-Bronx, he dropped a career-best in points (23) and rebounds (8). Against NJCAA Division III No. 7 Dutchess, Black produced 19 points, three rebounds and three steals.
CUNYAC Community College Men’s Basketball Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Isah Mohammed, BMCC
Fr., Lagos, Nigeria / Evangel Christian
Mohammed averaged 16.0 rebounds, 9.7 points, 5.3 blocks, and 5.0 steals during BMCC’s three games last week. At Queensborough, he finished with seven points, 14 rebounds, five blocks and one assist. Mohammed built on that momentum with a game-high 18 rebounds and tying a career-best seven blocks in a 72-50 victory over Monroe-Bronx. Against No. 7 Dutchess, he turned in a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.
The 2024 CUNYAC Community College Men’s Basketball Championship is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Feb. 14, with semifinal action at Kingsborough Community College. The championship game is slated for Friday, Feb. 16.
