Touching the lives of countless communities globally, UPS is committed to representation, volunteerism and charitable giving. We continue to foster a values-based culture where equity and a sense of belonging are the standard in our workplace and in the communities we serve.
Learn about five ways we’re honoring Black history and supporting Black futures:
- UPS boasts 24 African American Business Resource Group chapters with nearly 2,500 members. Last year, they hosted over 200 events and volunteered more than 25,000 volunteer hours.
- To date, UPSers have volunteered more than 900,000 hours toward UPS’s goal of one million hours dedicated to underserved Black communities.
- The UPS Foundation has several key partnerships with organizations focused on uplifting and supporting the Black community, including the National Urban League, NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), 100 Black Men of America, Inc. and more.
- A partnership between UPS and the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE) is driving the success of Black entrepreneurs and the communities they serve. The partnership includes supply chain education training, the unveiling of the UPS Logistics Launchpad – a hub serving RICE stakeholders with pick, pack, and ship support and more.
- The UPS Ignite program is a $1.25 million investment to elevate underrepresented entrepreneurs and fund access to education, resources, networks and capital. To date, 280 women-owned and minority-owned businesses have benefited from this program. Black-owned business that have participated in this program include:
- Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) apparel brand Tones of Melanin who partnered with UPS to launch a limited-edition apparel line celebrating HBCU culture.
- Feminine care brand The Honey Pot.
- Beauty care brand Mielle Organics.
