The royal family and the Church of England are set to receive demands for slavery reparations from Caribbean countries, it has been reported.
Amid frustration about the response of the British government to demands from leaders in the region, The Sunday Telegraph reported that reparations commissions are planning to approach institutions with links to the slave trade.
This would also include Lloyd’s of London, which was involved in insuring ships involved in the slave trade. The royal family made money from its share of the Royal Africa Company, which traded in slaves.
