Apologise & pay reparations for slavery: Grenadian PM to EU chief

Grenadian Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell told European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen that former colonial powers must apologise and pay compensation for their historic role in the enslavement of Africans. “The international community accepts this should never happen again,” Mitchell said. Replying to him, Leyen stated, “Universal rights of every human must be defended by all means.”
