Are you a member of an organization or agency that could benefit from a team of volunteers who can complete a service project for you? Project examples include painting, cleaning, organizing, working in food pantries, decorating, facilitating activities with residents, and more!
The MLK Day of Service Planning Committee is looking for service projects that can be completed at the 17th annual Joliet-Area MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 15 from 9 a.m. to noon. Only one agency representative needs to be on-site to open the doors for our volunteers. We will have two assigned project managers from the African American Business Association at each location who can supervise volunteers and provide instructions.
If our team of volunteers can help you, complete the MLK Day of Service Agency Project Submittal Form no later than November 30, 2023. We anticipate the participation of more than 500 volunteers at this event. Volunteer placement is a large task, so if organizations can submit their projects as soon as possible, it is appreciated.
We can also accommodate project requests that can be completed on-site at Central Campus. All supplies necessary to complete the project must be provided by the organization submitting the request. JTHS will provide the space at Joliet Central and the volunteers. Examples include making Valentines for Veterans, packaging hygiene kits, and making blankets for homeless shelters.
About the MLK Day of Service – January 15, 2024 @ Joliet Central High School
The MLK Day of Service is an annual opportunity for individuals of all ages to work side-by-side completing community service projects at locations throughout the Joliet-area community in honor of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A hot breakfast and lunch are provided.
