The Training and Development Institute of the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey announced Monday that it will partner with the Philadelphia-based JPI Group on an initiative that aims to empower and support Mercer County residents impacted by the opioid epidemic with essential resources for personal and professional development.
The initiative, entitled “the Transformation Project,” is focused on upskilling and connecting individuals to community-based programs that will help them engage, reengage or improve the New Jersey workforce — fostering reinvestment in themselves and their communities.
The Transformation Project is supported by the Pathways to Recovery Grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development. Key features of the initiative include:
- Upskilling and training;
- Workforce integration;
- Personal and professional development;
- Community-based services.
Through the Transformation Project, participants will have access to a broad range of resources and support services tailored to their unique individual needs. The JPI Group’s role involves a comprehensive plan that combines placement, mentorship and ongoing support to help participants achieve employment and long-term positive outcomes.
The company will leverage its CareerEquity Workforce Development platform, providing access to critical data and resources to ensure program success. JPI Group CEO Iyomakha Douglas emphasized the enormity of this initiative and how it will help to rebuild lives, foster resilience and create pathways towards a brighter future for those impacted by the opioid crisis.
African American Chamber CEO John Harmon was thrilled to announce the partnership.
