FAIRCHILD (WQOW) – A Black River Falls man is in custody Monday morning after a violent chase with authorities this weekend.

Halvorson said an officer from the Fairchild Police Department tried to pull over Fogleson around 5:50 Saturday evening. Fogleson immediately took off. During the pursuit, officers learned he had a felony warrant for his arrest, and he had caution indicators for violent tendencies.

Police said during the chase, Fogleson drove 70 mph through a residential area. He threw items at the officers multiple times, including throwing a hatchet-like item at them while stopped at an intersection. Officers said Fogleson rammed a squad car five times during the chase.

Fogleson eventually fled into a residence and locked himself inside. He surrendered when police agreed to let him smoke a couple of cigarettes.

Police said Fogleson has a long criminal history with multiple violent offenses.

A future court date is not yet set.
