Arrest made three months after Family Dollar murder in Saginaw

Ronald Kinchen is accused of shooting and killing Omar Morrow inside the Family Dollar store on South Michigan Avenue in Saginaw on June 28.

SAGINAW, Mich. (WJRT) – Police arrested a man accused of shooting and killing another man inside a Family Dollar store in Saginaw last summer.

Court records shows Ronald Kinchen was arraigned Monday on an open murder charge and eight other weapons charges for the death of Omar Morrow inside the store around 11:30 a.m. on June 28.

Police believe Kinchen went into the Family Dollar store on South Michigan Avenue and shot Morrow, who did not work there. Investigators say there was no attempt to rob the store, but they did not provide any information about a possible motive for the shooting.

Kinchen remained in the Saginaw County Jail after arraignment Monday with no bond offered. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing in Saginaw County District Court on Sept. 28.
