{KCCR – Pierre, SD} A woman died Wednesday after being pinned between a vehicle and a garage wall. Pierre Police Captain Dusty Pelle says officers responded Wednesday morning around 10-am to the 600 block of North Huron Avenue.
The investigation of the incident determined the 47-year-old woman was backing her vehicle out of the garage when she stopped and exited the vehicle. The vehicle started rolling forward back into the garage.
As the vehicle rolled back toward the garage the side of the garage opening pushed the driver’s door of the vehicle back toward the vehicle, causing the woman to become pinned between the vehicle and its door. Pelle did not say if the vehicle was in gear at the time, noting that those details are not currently available. The name of the woman has not been released pending notification of family members.
