Piedmont Triad high schools are several weeks into the football season. That means after the Friday night fun, many players may be waking up to not-so-fun injuries. Kevin Collmar, a physician assistant at the clinic, says its providers treat all kinds of injuries.“We see sports injuries, concussions, fractures, soft tissue injuries,” Collmar said. He says football players often come in with injuries associated with contact sports, such as ACL injuries and fractures. However, he says the clinic is open to all high school athletes, such as the cheerleaders on the sidelines. “We’re here to help the community,” Collmar said. “So it gives kids peace of mind, and it also gives parents peace of mind that we can get in and see them early on.”Watch: NOWCAST streaming newscastsHe says that for athletes to continue making strides for their teams, it’s important that they get treated for any injuries they may sustain. “The faster we get you in and treated and diagnosed, the faster you are to recovery.”Patients under 18 should bring a parent or guardian to the clinic.
