After an early testing period the Black Dog Institute’s Shift app is now entering a larger trial with doctors in training encouraged to take part.
The Black Dog Institute is searching for doctors in training to participate in a groundbreaking trial for a new mental health app, Shift.
Shift is an app based on recognised, evidence-based psychological approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and stress management.
The app provides therapeutic, psychoeducational content and strategies contextualised for the specific needs of doctors in training.
Early results of testing of the Shift app were positive, and registration is now open for doctors in training to participate in a nationwide randomized control trial. It is the largest trial of such an intervention for doctors in training conducted anywhere in the world, with every participant playing an important role in the journey to help improve the mental health of doctors.
Doctors in training anywhere in Australia and can register now to take part in the study. Registration will be open until June 2024, with entry into a draw for vouchers of up to $200 offered for participants who provide feedback via follow up questionaries.
