Queens State Sen. James Sanders talked about the law that will establish a nine person commission to study reparations in the state.
He said who will be picking the commission members and what it takes to make it into the group.
The senator explained how the commission will discuss remedies and reparations and how New York is the third state to do this.
State Sen. Sanders also discussed his family’s past and how racial justice is an important feat for him.
