MIDLAND, TX (KMID/KPEJ) – It’s a topic that many in the Black community steer from having.
Stephanie Palmer-Ikuku created G.A.I.M Plan Counseling in 2016 and since then has been helping many in the community through counseling services and education.
“I actually got into therapy because I used to try different techniques growing up and they worked and so I just always wanted to help people and it is very effective,” Palmer-Ikuku said.
In the video above she says the reason many in the Black community don’t have these conversations comes from cultural concern and also lack of African-American providers.
