The Diamonds in the Rough Black Women’s Health & Wellness event will be Thursday, Feb. 8, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Hembree room 203 within Willard J. Walker Hall.

The Diamonds in the Rough Black Women’s Health & Wellness event will be Thursday, Feb. 8, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Hembree room 203 within Willard J. Walker Hall. This essential session will focus on the broad spectrum of Black women’s health and wellness. The event is sponsored by Black Graduate Student Association in collaboration with the Dr. Barbara A. Lofton Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and the Graduate Professional Student Congress.

Panelists include Dr. Bri Biehl Jackson, chiropractor; Stacee C. Lambey, RN; and Warrenesha Arnold, a U of A graduate student working with Nyarai Skincare and Nyarai Nutrition. The panel will delve into both historical and contemporary aspects, discussing the journey and progress in healthcare specific to Black women. Key topics will include overall physical health, wellbeing and the importance of holistic wellness in the Black community. This session aims to provide valuable insights and foster a deeper understanding of the unique health challenges and successes experienced by Black women.

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Graduate Professional Student Congress and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee.
