Foster Mohale, the spokesperson for the department of healthhas urged people to be cautious when purchasing goods, particularly food, during Black Friday and to prioritise quality and safety over quantity and savings to avoid purchasing counterfeit and expired foodstuffs.

Mohale said that despite the Black Friday deals provided to people, it was important for them to carefully check food labels and expiration dates and avoid buying tainted food to avoid the persistent risk of potentially fatal food poisoning.
