Louisville Announces Theme Games for 2023-24 Men’s Basketball Season – University of Louisville Athletics

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — As the University of Louisville men’s basketball season approaches, theme games have been set for each of the Cardinals’ home games in the KFC Yum! Center.
 
Special events begin with the season opener Nov. 6, when UofL will honor the life of legendary head coach Denny Crum, who passed away in May.
 
Other promotions are also planned to celebrate faculty and staff, students, season ticket members, cancer survivors, mental health awareness, Black History Month and many more impactful groups and initiatives. There are also several opportunities to help those in need, in particular leading up to the holiday season.
 
The list below identifies each game with the specific theme.
 
Monday, Nov. 6 vs. UMBC
Home Opener
Honoring Denny Crum
Join us in honoring and celebrating the life of legendary coach Denny Crum.
 
Faculty & Staff Appreciation
Discounted tickets and recognitions will be available for UofL faculty and staff. Click HERE for more information.
 
Friday, Nov. 10 vs. Chattanooga
Ville’ns Appreciation Night
The game will feature student-only giveaways and promotions honoring the Cards’ official student section, The Ville’ns.
 
Wednesday, Nov. 15 vs. Coppin State
Mental Health Awareness Night
We recognize the importance of mental health in everyone’s lives and celebrate the Cards All In student-athlete mental health organization.
 
Sunday Nov. 26 vs. New Mexico State
Fall Festival Celebration
It’s Pumpkin Spice season as we offer fall-themed concessions and in-game activities to celebrate the changing of the seasons.
 
Annual Coat Drive for the Community
UofL will partner with the KFC Yum! Center to collect and donate winter clothes to local community members in need.
 
Wednesday, Nov. 29 vs. Bellarmine
Throwback Game
Louisville goes back to its roots, with a retro vibe throughout the game – throwback music, videos, games, and more.
 
Wednesday, Dec. 13 vs. Arkansas State
Barbenheimer Doubleheader
The worldwide phenomenon comes to the KFC Yum! Center as we host a doubleheader with women’s basketball.  Both games will be themed to the iconic “Barbenheimer” movie release, with fun games and activities.
 
Sunday, Dec. 17 vs. Pepperdine
Holiday with the Cards
Celebrate the holidays with themed promotions, take photos on the concourse with Santa Louie, and wear your favorite holiday sweater!
 
Annual Toy Drive
Take part in Cardinal Forever Kyle Kuric’s 13th annual toy drive, with new toys collected being donated to local children in need.
 
Thursday, Dec. 21 vs. Kentucky
Red Out vs. Kentucky
Be sure to wear your red gear for a rivalry Red Out vs. Kentucky.
 
Saturday, Jan. 6 vs. Pitt
Kroger Food Drive
A partnership between Louisville Basketball and Kroger to collect non-perishable food items for donation to local community members in need.
 
Saturday, Jan. 13 vs. NC State
Salute to Service Military Appreciation
UofL will honor veterans and active-duty military personnel with ticket discounts and exclusive recognitions. We have partnered with Vet Tix to provide tickets for active military personnel and veterans.  Click HERE to access tickets.
 
Tuesday, Jan. 23 vs. Duke
Annual Teddy Bear Toss
This is the third annual halftime event where fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears to toss onto the court at halftime, with all items collected being donated to local children in need.
 
Saturday, Jan. 27 vs. Virginia
Coaches vs. Cancer
The Cardinals will honor cancer survivors while bringing awareness to the cause through Coaches vs. Cancer. Halftime will feature a Survivor Walk honoring those in the fight. Click HERE to participate.
 
Saturday, Feb. 3 vs. Florida State
502 Day
UofL will celebrate all things Louisville for the second annual 502 Day game.
 
Saturday, Feb. 10 vs. Georgia Tech
Kids Day
This will be the fifth annual event where the youngest members of Card Nation take over the gameday experience. Details and the chance to sign up to participate to follow.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 21 vs. Notre Dame
Black History Month Celebration
UofL will honor local heroes and community members in celebration of Black History Month.
 
Saturday, Mar. 2 vs. Syracuse
Season Ticket Member Appreciation

Tuesday, Mar. 5 vs. Virginia Tech
Coaching for Literacy
We celebrate the #Fight4Literacy initiative and NCAA Readers Become Leaders programs, raising awareness for literacy programs in our area.
 
Saturday, Mar. 9 vs. Boston College
Senior Day / Wear Red for the Seniors
Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite red UofL gear as we celebrate the senior class.
