‘Mental health is not talked about so our kids sit in silence’: local organization boosts confidence in Black girls

KITCHENER — The day two young girls stood up and told program organizers and attendees about their experience being Black, Marjorie-Anne Knight knew the work she was doing was important.

One of the girls was 13 years old at the time and spoke of how her peers would laugh at her because her hair was different.
