New pickleball court
There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new pickleball court at Jaycee Park, 6300 Tennyson Drive, at 10 a.m. Saturday.
It is the first dedicated pickleball court in Waco’s park system, a grant-funded project made possible through the Parkdale Viking Hills Neighborhood Association.
Bosh Memorial car show
The John Bosh Memorial Car and Bike Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sherwin-Williams distribution center, 1300 Aviation Parkway.
There will be food, contestant cars, trucks and bikes at the show. Entry fee is $25 at the event for any car that wants to be in the car show.
John Bosh was a truck driver for Sherwin Williams for six years until a fatal accident in 2018. The show is held by Sherwin-Williams annually to honor his memory and support the family.

All proceeds go to the John Bosh Memorial Foundation and in turn goes back to the community.

Boss Conference
The Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Boss Conference from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Hankamer-Cashion Academic Center at Baylor University.
The Boss Conference is designed to assist minority business owners in their efforts to expand and build their businesses. This year’s agenda highlights include: cementing your business foundation, accessing business capital, business accounting, scaling your business and generational business wealth.
The conference will include breakout sessions, panels and an opportunity for one-on-one consultations. Breakfast and lunch will be served.

McLennan Theatre
McLennan Theatre will perform “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at MCC’s Ball Performing Arts Center.
Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for seniors, military members, veterans and students; and free for MCC employees and students.

Foster care meeting
“It Takes a Village: Foster Care in McLennan County,” will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Waco-McLennan County Central Library, 1717 Austin Ave.
The meeting will provide information for people with questions about foster care or adoption. Advocates from Nightlight Christian Adoptions and Arrow Child & Family Ministries will be there to speak about the need for foster families in the community and the resources their agencies provide. They will also be available after the panel session to answer questions. Light refreshments will be served.
Dog Days in Hewitt
A Dog Days Canine Event will run from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Hewitt Park, 801 S. Hewitt Drive.
The event is free, but parking costs $5.
The event will include food trucks, weenie dog races, a pet costume parade, glamour shots for pets and microchipping.
Proceeds benefit the Hewitt Public Library. Dry dog food donations will be accepted for local shelters.
Pet rescue groups, pet adoption groups and pet care information will be available on-site.

Robinson gala
The Robinson Education Foundation Rocket Gala will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Anthem Stories, 800 Austin Ave.
Tickets cost $100 each.
The Rocket Gala is a fundraiser to support the mission of the Robinson Education Foundation to generate and distribute resources to the Robinson Independent School District to enrich and expand programs.
The formal evening will include a buffet dinner, open bar, entertainment by DJ Grapevine, photo booth by Priceless Events, 52-card draw, whiskey and wine pull, raffle, and silent auction.
