YOU CAN BRING THE KIDDOS. WE HAVE BOUNCE HOUSES, WE HAVE A DJ. WE’RE GOING TO BE TEACHING SOME LINE DANCING. SO THINK OF IT AS LIKE THE FUNNEST DOCTOR’S APPOINTMENT YOU EVER ATTEND. I LOVE IT. AND IT’S A5K, SO IT’S NOT TOO DAUNTING. YOU CAN ANYBODY CAN DO A5K, RIGHT? YEAH, I DON’T KNOW ABOUT THAT. ALL RIGHT, NICOLE, LET’S TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE IMPORTANT WORK THAT’S DONE BECAUSE OF THE MONEY RAISED AT A WALK LIKE THIS. HE KIND OF TOUCHED ON ALL OF THESE THESE SCREENINGS THAT HAPPEN BECAUSE OF IT. OH, YEAH. SO PASSPORT BY MOLINA HEALTH CARE. WE’RE EXCITED TO BE A PARTNER AGAIN WITH THE AFRICAN AMERICAN WELLNESS WALK MILL WELLNESS WALK. SO, YOU KNOW, THE ONE THING ABOUT THIS WALK IS THAT IT WILL ADDRESS HEALTH DISPARITIES, OF COURSE. AND IN BLACK MEN AND ALSO THEY WILL BE ABLE, AS MARI WAS SAYING EARLIER, TO GET SCREENINGS AND SO, YOU KNOW, IT’S A BIG ROOM. YOU CAN GET ALL OF THESE SCREENINGS. AND AS KAMARI MENTIONED, A BIG DOCTOR’S APPOINTMENT AND THEY WILL WILL BE ABLE TO GET CRITICAL INFORMATION IN ABOUT THEIR HEALTH. AND SO PASSPORT’S BEEN AROUND FOR 27 YEARS. WE’VE BEEN SPONSORING EVENTS LIKE THIS. IT’S TO GET OUR MEMBERS THE ACCESS THAT THEY DESERVE AND NEED AND SO WE’RE HERE. WE’RE DOING IT AGAIN, AND WE’RE EXCITED TO BE IN WEST LOUISVILLE AND TO SUPPORT THE AFRICAN AMERICAN WELLNESS. THE SCREENINGS ARE FREE. YES. SO IF SOMEBODY WANTS TO BE SCREENED, DO THEY JUST SHOW UP? YES, THEY CAN JUST GO. AND YOU ALL SCREENED SOME 200 MEN LAST YEAR. YOU ALL ARE LITERALLY SAVING LIVES WITH THIS. THAT’S THE GO. THAT’S DEFINITELY A GO IF WE KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON IN YOUR BODY, THEN YOU CAN KNOW HOW YOU HAVE TO MAKE SOME LIFESTYLE ADJUSTMENTS. THE REASON WHY I BROUGHT THE WALK HERE IS BECAUSE I FOUND OUT TWO YEARS AGO I HAD ELEVATED BLOOD PRESSURE. YEAH, YEAH. THIS WALK IS STARTING AT THE NORTON SPORTS AND LEARNING CENTER. IF PEOPLE WANT TO GET INVOLVED, WHAT DO THEY NEED TO DO? THEY CAN GO AA WELLNESS.ORG AND SIGN UP TO BECOME A PASSION TEAM. OUR VENDORS IS ALWAYS CLOSED, BUT JUST INVITE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO COME OUT. WHAT’S YOUR HOPE FOR THIS? MY HOPE IS JUST THAT THE COMMUNITY SUPPORTS IT. LAST YEAR WE HAD OVER 2000 ATTENDEES, SO WE’RE LOOKING TO HAVE PROBABLY 4000 PEOPLE THIS YEAR. NICOLE, I’LL LET YOU HAVE THE LAST WORD. IF SOMEBODY THINKING ABOUT SHOWING UP, CONSIDERING GOING, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SAY TO THEM? YES, WE WANT YOU TO COME AND LEARN ABOUT YOUR HEALTH AND YOUR BODY GETS SCREENINGS, LEARN TO EAT HEALTHY AND NUTRITION AND AND YOU CAN’T GO WRONG. THERE IT SOUNDS LIKE IT’S GOING TO BE A GREAT EVENT. ARE YOU GOING TO BE LEADING THE LINE DANCING? IT WON’T BE ME. IT WILL NOT BE ME. OKAY. WE’RE GOING TO PASS THAT OFF TO SOMEBODY ELSE. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THAT, ACTUALLY. ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU BOTH FOR BEING HERE. THANK YOU FOR HAVING US COME OUT.
