Celebrate Black Business Month in August

August is Black Business Month, a month that both acknowledges and appreciates Black-owned businesses across the country. The month was created in 2004 by Frederick E. Jordan and John William Templeton, two entrepreneurs who understood how important Black-owned businesses were and wanted to celebrate them.

As part of this year’s Black Business month, the ACLU of Wisconsin has compiled a list of some popular Black-owned businesses throughout Wisconsin. This month, take time to go visit one of these businesses or find a Black-owned business in your area to support!
